Tim Burton is a genious, without a doubt. His classics, such as
Edward Scissorhands, and
The Nightmare Before Christmas are indeed favorites of mine. However, they seem to pale when compared to the beauty, the genious, the sheer perfection of
Tim Burton's Corpse Bride.
Now, Tim Burton has created some unforgetable characters in his career, such as Jack Skellington, Sally Finklestien and the evil Oogie Boogie man, however, none are as intruiging as Emily, the Corpse Bride. Killed by her own lover, for her money at that, Emily vowed to find her true love as she waited underground in the forest. Jack Skellington was intriuging as well, but
Corpse Bride is
somewhat darker than that-
The Nightmare Before Christmas' story was
uplifting and positive, however being murdered by the one you love...that is the ultimate betrayal...
